Your pay
Converting between salary and hourly pay
Your annual salary is simply your hourly wage multiplied by the hours you work in a year. Full-time work is usually treated as 40 hours a week for 52 weeks, or 2,080 hours a year, but this calculator lets you set both figures so it works for part-time and seasonal schedules too.
The formula
hourly = annual ÷ (hours per week × weeks per year)
Worked example
At $25 an hour, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year: annual = 25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000, which is $1,000 a week and about $4,333 a month. Going the other way, a $52,000 salary divided by 2,080 hours is $25 an hour.
